Ruth Muthoni Waweru – CPSB Vice Chair
Ruth holds a BA (Hons) degree in Economics and Sociology from the University of Nairobi and is currently pursuing her MBA in Human Resource Management. She has also qualified in CPA Part 1.
Ruth is the Chair of the Recruitment and Selection Committee in the Kiambu County Public Service Board and a member of the Human Resource Committees, Finance, Administration Committee and Governance, Ethics & Disciplinary Committees. She is the CPSB liaison member for the Department of Trade, Tourism, Co-operatives & Industrialisation Water, Environment, Energy & Natural Resources and Agriculture, Livestock & Fisheries
Ruth has had a varied and broad career spanning engagements in private enterprise to community work and development. Over the last seven years, Ruth has been engaged in private enterprise, specifically in import trading activity as well as real estate as an Import and Marketing Manager. Prior to this, Ruth worked as a Constituency Manager for approximately five years where she was involved in the administration and management of development activities at the constituency level. She played a supervisory role in the governance of the Constituency Development Fund, Women Enterprise Fund, Embakasi Youth and Women Sacco, as well as various other committees.
In other arenas, her passion for uplifting the social-welfare of the less fortunate in society compelled her to provide servant leadership as the Chairperson for the Slum Women Economic Program. She also served and as a mentor and patron of various Youth Self-Help Groups.
On the leadership front, Ruth demonstrated her leadership abilities at a younger age by been appointed the Captain of the University of Nairobi Table Tennis Association, where she was a top-seeded player of the sport.
