Allan Ng’ang’a Mwaura – County Public Service Board Chairman

Allan has a cumulative work and professional experience in the Public Service of over 20 years, as an Educationist and Human Resource Management practitioner in the Civil Service.

Between 1997 and 2009 while serving in the Education Sector, Allan held positions of a high school teacher of English/ Literature and administrator in Kiambu County where his duties and responsibilities included among others: overall school administration and management as Principal to oversee implementation of the National Educational Goals and Policies as an agent of the Ministry of Education and of the Teachers Service Commission.

Allan transferred his service from the Education Sector to the mainstream Civil Service in 2009 upon appointment as Assistant Director, Human Resource Management and Development.

Allan has served at various administrative and managerial positions in the Public Service up to the position of Director, Human Resource Management and Development in the Ministry of Public Service and Gender where his duties and responsibilities included among others:  Human Resource Planning; formulation of policy interventions and programmes to address capacity gaps for effective and efficient Succession Management in the Public Service; capacity building and provision of technical assistance to government Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) through robust  interpretation of procedures, regulations,  guidelines and policies for effective management of human resource in the Public Service,

Allan is an Associate Member of the Kenya Institute of Management and the Kenya Association of Public Administration Managers (KAPAM). Allan possesses B. Ed (Arts) and M. Ed (Administration) degrees from Kenyatta University. The Chairman has undertaken various management and corporate leadership and governance courses both regionally and internationally including the Strategic Leadership Management Programme from the Kenya School of Government (KSG), Employment Systems and Climate Change for Programmes for Developing Countries (China) among others.

Allan is the CPSB liaison member for the Department of Health Services (to be assisted by Ms. Mary N. Maina) and Finance & Economic Planning.
